Pursuant to R.C. 3515.03 this notice is to advise you of the time and place and method of recounting ballots cast in Allen County Ohio in the November 8, 2011 General Election.
A hand recount of the write in votes cast for the Member of the Board of the Spencerville School District will commence on Thursday December 8, 2011 beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the offices of the Allen Co. Board of Elections located on the lower level of Third District Court of Appeals Building, 204 N. Main Street, Lima, Ohio.
Two counting stations consisting of two election officials (one from each major party) will be employed for this recount. As a candidate in this contest you are entitled to have one witness present at each counting station. Please be advised that all witnesses must be appointed in writing and signed by the candidate. The letter of appointment must be presented upon arrival in order to gain access to the counting room.
All ballots cast on Election Day, by Absentee and Provisionally will be inspected by hand by the two stations and the number of ballots cast will be compared to the number of voters who cast a ballot. Then all votes for John Goecke, Laura Meyer and Lowell Seibert will be tallied. After both stations are complete the totals will be combined and the results of the recount will be announced.
